Krispy Kreme

Apparently nag-open na raw ang Krispy Kreme somewhere in Greenhills. At least ngayon malalasahan na ng sambayanang Pilipino ang famous doughnuts na ito. Ito daw ang hand carry luggage ni Sharon Cuneta when so goes back from the states. At least ngayon, pede na lang utusan si yaya na bumili. And who could forget the Andrew E song na "Krispy na Kreamy pa" na unfortunately is not about the doughnut but something else...

Let me share to you my Krispy Kreme experience when it first opened here in Sydney...We had to drive 40 kilometres to buy some. In the middle of winter. And when we got there , there was this long line. So we had to stand in line in the middle of the night, in the middle of winter (brrr) for thirty minutes to buy a doughnut. We were served hot doughnuts while on line and at that time nothing compares to it when it comes to taste. Melts in your mouth. Sarap...

And then the inevitable happened. It opened more branches- in major suburbs , in the malls and all of a sudden it was one of those things that is available anytime, anywhere... I think part of the earlier appeal is that you have to make an effort to have it. Long drive. Queau. Long drive back. But now sadly it's available anytime. Nagugutom? Krispy Kreme. Naiinip? Krispy Kreme. Alang magawa? Krispy kreme. Hanggang one of those na lang ang turing mo sa once na to die for na doughnut na ito. Ngayon? I don't like them anymore. I think it was a case of overkill for me.

To all of you there in Pinas who still goes loco over this doughnuts- enjoy the novelty while it last. Trust me,
